From a few bins in 2017 to the home of small scale cooperative winemaking in Victoria.
Winemaking skipped a generation in Alex’s family. His grandfather, Bob wine from the 60s to the 80s at Roseworthy Agricultural College (now part of Adelaide University) and the Loxton wine Cooperative. Alex still has his grandfather’s notebooks and combines these written experiences with his own tertiary winemaking studies and a decade of experience in Victorian wine.
Little Brunswick is a negotiant producer, meaning that we source grapes from growers. It is our believe that having long lasting partnerships with many growers allows us to gain a rich experience and be unconstrained in our vision for Central and Western Victorian wine.
From nothing, to something, and now to somewhere.
Little Brunswick has opened the Bacchus Marsh Winemaking Collective.
We aim to help winemakers start their own wine labels. We foster creativity aiming to reshape the Australian wine scene. I suppose this is exactly where my grandfather, Bob started 80 years ago. A lifetime separates us, but the desire for community, creativity, and good wine will outlive us all.
The world is changing, food and wine must change with it.
Our climate is changing, and wine is changing with it. Grapes are a reflection of the time and place in which they grew. We are in uncertain times with wildly changing seasons. With this challenge, comes a requirement for vision. Alex has a vision for new styles, new grape varieties and new ways of doing business that all aim to promote the health and happiness of the wine industry and our communities.
Little Brunswick aims to be a part of communities that change the wine industry and our surrounding communities for the better. Each wine that we release is a testament to that. Little Brunswick makes wines that inspire community, creativity and problem solving.
